Irina Wright
Medicine. Psychology. My way.
To begin with, my professional way started at First Moscow State Medical University in Russia. Therefore, I am a medical doctor with a specialisation in cardiology.
Over the past four years, I have dedicated myself to pursuing a second degree in psychology. Frankly speaking, I am deeply passionate about this profession. I see profound meaning and transformative power particularly in enhancing an individual's mental state.
Currently, I reside in the United Kingdom. Alongside my practice in individual psychological counselling, I am enrolled in a master's program in psychology at the University of Glasgow.

  • I regularly attend supervision sessions.
  • I have been participating in a practical training group for over two years (with more than 130 hours of practice).
  • Additionally, I have accumulated over 160 hours in personal therapy.

My area of professional interest and competence
  • Self-esteem and self-worth: Issues related to self-identity and the perception of personal value.
  • Self-realization: Exploration and creation of personal meaning and the development of one's true self.
  • Life crises: Navigating significant life changes such as shifts in profession, relocation, and alterations in family status.
  • Emotional challenges: Managing overwhelming emotional states, including guilt, shame, fear, and anxiety.
  • Interpersonal relationship difficulties: Resolving issues in communication and relationships with others.
  • Issues of personal boundaries: Addressing the establishment and maintenance of healthy boundaries in relationships.
  • Traumatic events and PTSD: Management of trauma-related symptoms and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
  • Work with life narratives and scripts: Analysing and reworking life stories and psychological scripts.
  • Dream interpretation: Exploring and understanding the significance of dreams within the therapeutic process.

  • Diagnostic sessions: Identifying underlying issues when something feels wrong, but the exact problem is unclear.
  • Booster sessions: Preventive or reinforcement sessions aimed at maintaining therapeutic progress.
MY PRINCIPLES OF THERAPY
  • Acceptance and respect
I accept and respect the client and his/her values.
    People are people.
Race, religion, and sexual orientation do not have a primary influence on the mechanism of development of psychological problems.
They may be the reason for coming to therapy, but they do not affect the therapy process.
  • Clarity and transparency
It is important for me that clients understand the therapeutic process, which is why I explain and provide commentary on what is happening during therapy sessions.
The effectiveness of therapy largely depends on mutual engagement, equal participation, and shared responsibility, making therapeutic collaboration essential.
  • Сonfidentiality
I guarantee the confidentiality of the ongoing therapeutic work
I do not publish reviews or use client cases for my blog.
For regular supervision sessions, I anonymise the client's history.
Important provisions
Establishing a therapeutic contract
The session fee is fixed for a minimum of six months from the initial session.
An increase in fees may be justified by factors such as acquiring new skills through further training, gaining therapeutic experience,
or an increase in demand indicated by a growing number of therapy requests.
Cancellation policy
Cancelling or rescheduling more than 24 hours before the agreed time is free of charge.
If the session is cancelled or rescheduled less than 24 hours before the agreed time,
the full session fee will be charged,
regardless of the reason.
The last session rule
If you decide to end therapy, please inform me in advance, and we will arrange a final session.
This is important for reviewing the therapy, discussing key aspects of our therapeutic relationship, and ensuring
that the relationship concludes
rather than being abruptly ended, which is significant for the effectiveness of the therapy.
